Obstetricians Get Remote I.T. Access

The CALM clinical information system and risk management software for obstetricians, from LMS Medical Systems Inc., Montreal, is now accessible via PDAs and smart phones.

LMS has developed an interface between its software and the AirStrip OB application from AirStrip Technologies, L.P., San Antonio, Texas. AirStrip OB enables obstetricians and their staffs to remotely access virtual real-time and historical wave forms and other data for mothers and babies from a hospital’s labor and delivery unit using a cell phone connection. It’s now in use in more than 45 U.S. hospitals and health care systems, according to the vendor.
