Jefferson Health selects Qlik to support population health

Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health in Philadelphia have selected the business intelligence and analytics platform of Qlik to better collect, analyze, disseminate data and make patient care decisions. The product, called Qlik Sense, enables the building of custom apps and the visualization of data to better understand results and support enterprise-level users. Mouneer Oden, vice president of enterprise analytics and chief data scientist at Jefferson Health, calls the initiative “precision analytics.”

Torrance Memorial Medical Center in California will implement the MH-CURE (Clinical Urgent Response) secure smartphone clinical communications platform. The product supports secure paging, text and voice communications, uploading of patient photos and data to electronic health record systems, and integration with the Cerner EHR and the West-Com nurse call system. The platform will serve 2,700 clinicians; the hospital is replacing all old phones and most pagers with more than 1,000 smartphones. “With MH-CURE, we can communicate seamlessly from building to building while experiencing tremendous ease of use, such as fast and easy logins,” says Bernadette Reid, CIO.



UAB Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is an early adopter of oncology care software that its core EHR vendor Cerner recently integrated into its PowerChart Oncology system. Cerner added the cancer care planning software of Carevive to improve patient engagement and care management. The Carevive tools enable personalized treatment decision making with standardized symptom assessment and management guidance to better engage patients in care planning.

Neighbors Emergency Center, a chain of 33 freestanding emergency care facilities in Texas, Colorado and Rhode Island, is going electronic with the help of two vendors. T-Systems will supply the emergency department information system, and Presidiohealth will implement its practice management system. Both vendors will integrate with ImagineSoftware, which is Neighbors’ billing and accounts receivable partner.

J.D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities, a pediatric rehabilitative hospital in Norman, Okla., is live on the Evident electronic health record of CPSI. The center also selected cloud management of its data and insurance eligibility verification services from TruBridge, a subsidiary of CPSI. The center has six hospital units on its campus and a staff of more than 200 professionals treating the children.
