Two urology practices select Integra Connect to replace EHRs
Transitions in records systems are essential in making the transition to value-based care, execs say.
Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of health IT contract wins and go-lives:
The Urology Group, with 15 sites serving parts of Ohio and Kentucky, and the Michigan Institute Urology, with 22 sites in southeast Michigan, both are replacing legacy electronic health record systems and selecting the same vendor—Integra Connect.
Some 39 physicians at The Urology Group recently went live on the EHR as the organization prepares for the shift to value-based care. “We have long seen the need for a new wave of innovation among urology EHRs to better equip practices like ours for the changes in our specialty in general and with the shift to value-based care in particular,” says Gary Kirsh, MD, the group’s president.
Michigan Institute of Urology presently is implementing the Integra software to enable best practice value-based care. “The solution stood out because its workflows are care pathways- and guildline-based,” says Michel Hollander, MD, its CEO. “It allows us to choose our own MIPS quality measures and it provides a more holistic view of our patients’ health and well-being from a single screen.”

- Morristown Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System in Morristown, N.J., is the first hospital to implement the BEACON Advanced Energy Laser System of OmniGuide Surgical. The laser offers the versatility of two distinct methods of tissue sparing CO2 laser delivery to accommodate multiple surgical specialties and physician preferences alike.
- Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., has gone live on Carestream Health’s clinical collaboration platform. The platform features enterprise imaging, 3D viewing, lesion management, vendor-neutral archiving, multi-media reporting and analytics as part of a managed service.
- Lauderdale Radiology Group in northwest Alabama has implemented the eRAD picture archiving and communication system of RadNet. The radiology group serves a metropolitan community comprising four cities and also provides imaging services for the largest hospital. Further expansion will include reads for outside clinics prompted the search for a new PACS.
- Nivano Physicians, an independent physician association in the Sacramento region of California is live on the Virtual Examiner claims editing software from PCG Software and also using the technology to enhance their existing claims adjudication system. When an inconsistency is detected in a claim, the software prepares a remittance report explaining why the claim is reduced or denied. In this process, providers often become aware of state and federal rules governing claims submissions for the first time.
